Facebook now publishes your phone numbers–both landline and cell–as well as your address on the internet. Even if you select“Friends Only,” that means anyone and everyone you add as a friend on Facebook will be able to see your phone number and address on their computer.
To see your friend’s phone numbers on your profile page, go to the top right of your screen, click “Account,” and then click “Edit Friends.” Go to the left side of your computer screen and click “Phonebook.” Everyone’s mobile and landline phone numbers as well as their addresses are being published publicly on Facebook.
The following six steps will show you how to protect your privacy on the internet by removing your phone numbers and address from Facebook’s public settings.
Step 1. Go to your Facebook page and log in.
Step 2. Click on “Account.”
Step 3. Select “Privacy Settings.”
Step 4. Select “Custom” under “Phone Numbers” and under “Address.”
Step 5. Select “Friends Only” for your phone number and address to be visible to only your friends.
Step 6. Select “Only Me” to prevent your phone number and address from appearing on all your friends’ pages.
By following these six steps, you will have successfully removed your phone number and address from the public settings on Facebook.
Warning: Always be careful what information you allow to be published publicly on the internet.
